Endoscopic Spine Surgery
Surgical treatment of the degenerative disc disease has evolved from traditional open spine surgery to minimally invasive spine surgery including endoscopic spine surgery. Constant improvement in the imaging modality especially with introduction of the magnetic resonance imaging, it is possible to identify culprit degenerated disc segment and again with the discography it is possible to diagnos...
متن کاملContribution of Surgery in Solitary Plasmacytoma of Spine; A Case Report
Solitary plasmacytoma of bone is a rare malignant tumor mostly involving the axial skeleton. The tumor occurs in middle- aged or elderly people (mean age: 55 years) and has a high risk of progression to multiple myeloma. Radiotherapy is the preferred treatment for this disease. We report a case of recurrent solitary plasmacytoma of the fourth lumbar vertebra in a 35-year-old male. The patient s...
متن کاملDysphagia Due to Anterior Cervical Spine Osteophyte: A Case Report
Introduction: Degenerative changes of the cervical spine are more common in elderly, but anterior cervical osteophytes that cause problems in swallowing are rare. The most common cause of this problem is DISH disease (diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis). Trauma is also suggested as a potential cause in osteophyte formation. Case Report: We report a rare case of anterior cervical osteop...
متن کاملCervicothoracic Lordosis Can Influence Outcome After Posterior Cervical Spine Surgery
Background Previous studies on the correlation between cervical sagittal balance with improvement in quality of life showed significant results only for parameters of the anterior translation of the cervical spine (such as C2-C7 SVA). Objective We test whether a new parameter, cervicothoracic lordosis, can predict clinical success in this type of surgery. Methods The focused group involved ...
متن کاملEndoscopic Spine Surgery: Distance Patients Will Travel for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.
BACKGROUND Transforaminal lumbar endoscopic discectomy is a minimally invasive spine surgery procedure performed principally for the treatment of lumbar herniated discs. Endoscopic spine surgeons around the world have noted how far patients will travel to undergo this minimally invasive spine surgery, but the actual distance patients travel has never been investigated. OBJECTIVE We present he...
